Communicating safety at our WABCO location in Hanover, Germany. The board highlights progress in safety, specific actions taken and reductions in accidents over the past five years.

From 2000-2004, we reduced our total case incidence rate by 64 percent, or 2,260 cases, and our lost workday case incidence rate by 78 percent, or 931 cases.

Our safety objective for 2006 is to achieve a 25-percent or more improvement in overall safety performance. Meeting this goal requires the commitment of every one of our 61,000 employees who make safety a value and the way we do business, every day.

We won't be satisfied until we are incident-free.

Number of facilities reaching milestones
We track the following important safety milestones at our facilities:

• one year or
  
• one million hours without a recordable incident or lost workday case.

We began tracking these important milestones in April 2005.
As of December 2005, 78 facilities had achieved no recordable incidents and 71 facilities had achieved no lost workdays within either of these timeframes.

Internally, we honor and recognize facilities that reach these milestones.
