Values determine what's important to us as a company, and shape how we see ourselves and how others see us, according to Fred Poses, Chairman and CEO.

"In order to live up to our mission of being the best in the eyes of customers, employees and shareholders," he explains, "we need a global set of values that define how we behave individually and collectively."

To develop our company values, Poses established an Ethics and Integrity Council made up of business leaders from across our company. The council is led by Craig Kissel, president of American Standard's WABCO vehicle control systems business.

The Council began by reviewing employee suggestions and values from across our company and from other companies. Based on this, the Council drafted a values statement.

American Standard's values are:
